Hi Chatters:

Can anyone help with the first name of this signature. I think the last name is Starkey but have no idea on the first name.

All suggestions welcome  :)

I'd go with "Frank".

My first thought was John M Starkey .... but I can also see Frank now that Steve mentioned it.  :)

Presumably he was a witness and the rest of the document is in another handwriting? Some dates and places and a bit of detective work might solve the mystery.

I second Ruskie's post, that's exactly what I was thinking!  I still think it's John M though, that seems to flow better.

Looks more like Sharkey.........no crossed "t"....very low but if you know the name is definitely Starkey then it is just how the person writes.

Maybe some more of the doc. to compare the handwriting would be good.

Could it be a profession or occupation.

What sort of occupation would this person have had do you know?

Annie, I thought the cross of the 't' was that thick dark line which starts above the 'a' and looks like it has been swiped across the top of the word.  :)

Let us know dates of the document when you return please sami, wo we can see if we can locate Mr Starkey.  :)
