Thanks for the link shellyesq.
I have at least 2 male Richards's to find and one of them must have stayed in Cornwall because he had a son-  Frank Richards.  I have no information about Frank and because  family history wasn't popular many years ago, I don't know who his parents were.
I was hoping to eliminate by emigration details but no luck yet :(
Those  unaccounted for are Thomas H Richards 1891/1892 who was living in Cornwall during 1911 with his his parents James and Elizabeth (Harris)Richards.
The other is James Richards born abt 1893/1894 son of William John and Elizabeth (Hill) Richards. he was living with his parents in 1911. One of his brothers emigrated to the US and the other to South Africa.
I left a message this week on the USA board regarding Thomas H Richards whose parents were William J and Elizabeth (Hill) Richards and found the information that I needed.
That just leaves James born abt 1894 whom I can't find in the 1939 register on FindMyPast and the sister Janie who was born abt 1896.

With such a common surname an exact date of birth would help Mary  ???

I don't whether to put this on the USA board.
This is a long shot but I have just found a James Richards in the 1920 census age 27 and he is a nephew to P.V.Hill and she is a widow living with her 2 children . According to that census he emigrated in 1909 and Natural or Alien has him as PA. The family are living at Grass Valley Township. Mill Street.Nevada,California.
Hill is the maiden name of the mother of the  James Richards that I am looking for. Trouble is in 1911 my James is in Cornwall living with his parents at Tolskithy Lane. Did he return for a visit?
I have no idea who Peggy as she is known in the 1930 census married because she is a widow in 1920.

Looking at an online tree, the tree states:
Margaret (Peggy) V Hocking married William Hill in 1890 in England.  William was apparently born July 1869, England.

According to a different online tree:
William Hill was married to Margaret Hill in 1890.  William was born July 1869, Sennen, Cornwall, England.  His parents apparently were Thomas Hill and Mary Ann.  His siblings were Louisa J, John, Peter and James Richard (Hill).

California death index

James passed away in 1946

Thanks for that Lisa.
That draft card of James that says James Richards born in 1893 at Redruth  ties in with the James that I am  looking for.
Then there is  a WW1 Canadian Attestation for James Richards, b. Feb. 2, 1890 St. Just, Cornwall
and he gives his Aunt Peggy Hill of Nevada City as his next of kin and a  California Death Index for James Richards, b. Feb. 2, 1891, d. July 22, 1946 whose father is father Richards, mother Hocking. This information isn't the same as the James born 1893 at Redruth.
Is he the sames person  :-\
