Charles Nestor 1888 b Glasgow  (my husbands direct descendant)

Lovely, just what was needed.
This family I have found had an Olof with a brother called Carl Nestor. This Olof was written in the "Missings Persons Book" by the minister in 1881 as living in Glasgow. He was a seaman.

Ian thank you so much that is very interesting. My father in law had the same name Charles Nestor and we always wondered where the name came from, it seems it must be a family name that was passed through the family. So now I'm wondering which of his parents were Swedish?
Bradshaw Tyldesley/Worsley Lancs. RIMMER Liverpool/Birkenhead/Eccles Lancs. Dale Congleton.
Storey Kendal/Eccles. Ryan County Galway Ireland.
O'SULLIVAN Oughterard/ Cornamona County Galway, Ireland. Butler and Burke, Count Galway.  Cowburn Atherton, Manley Worsley. Durban (various spelling) Chilvers Coton Warwickshire. Phidiam/Fidium Worsley.

You were very lucky in the fact that Swedish Statistik Bureau had reconstructed the books from the "censuses" after the fire. So I went through them and found this family:

1860
Alexander Didricksson Wingård b.1820
Johanna Christiansdotter b.1823

Johan Didrik b.1843
Olof August b.1845
Carl Nestor b.1848
Aron b.1851
Hans Peter b.1853
Otto Albin b.1856
Christian b.1858
Edvard Theodor b.1859
Anna Lisa b.1849
Inger Helena b.1861
Albertina b.1863
Catharina b.1868

I should mention i have no idea how Alexanders name comes about. I understand Christiandotter, daughter of Christian.😊

It certainly looks like it doesn't it.

I have just read Alexander Didricksson's Inventory of Estate/Will from 1895  and it states that Olof was still abroad. They didn't know of his death here then.

You will probably never know why he chose Anderson. This certainly looks like to be him and his family. We will have to thank the minister for writing Glasgow.
