HaHa... nearly. No not at all. Just ask away.

He was recorded as a "hemmansegare" in other words he was a farmer who owned his own land. He was not a Master Mariner unfortunately. I have helped other members with their "Master Mariners" in the past and I have never seen it to be true. It seems as though the son wants to lift their father's status a little. I think I would have done it myself as it looks better on the certificate.

So that means his second marriage certificate had the correct information on. Correct mothers name and correct profession of his father.
I love the fact Alexanders surname was Wingard meaning winery, just up my street!!!

I wonder what he farmed?

I have found a great tree of the whole of the Wingårds family going back to 1510. There is a book somewhere on this family here in Sweden.....

Just got back online with Ancestry and found Oliver's DoB 17 Feb 1845. Pity that the original books aren't still around, it would have been nice to see the record.
