;D We all lose track...and it is late!

I am thinking that 1975 marriage I listed would well be for your uncle. Not sure therefore who was the wife who reported Thomas Snr's death in 2003. Maybe he was living with someone after Rose's death or remarried as just Thomas Edgar. Can't guess.

Added: There is though another marriage for a Thomas Peter in 1976 in Johnstone. Location would fit better with where we have Thomas living around that time.

Marriage certs would need to be checked for details...

Thank you for helping me :)

So he was born 1919 and died 2003. So my Nan lied and told my Mother he had died then left for England leaving poor Tommy behind.
I checked my PM I didn't get anything yet. I do wonder if there are more children especially if he had met possibly 2 others after my Granma x

I think there may have potentially some Edgar/McCabe children born in Johnstone.

One of the possible births is in 1960, then 1963, 1964 and 1970. I will send you details via PM.

Maybe this is what was behind your Grandmother leaving Scotland for England? Maybe Thomas and Rose started a relationship some time after youngest son Glen was born?

This could explain why Jamesina wanted to cut all ties and told her two children that Thomas Peter was dead young? Maybe and maybes!

Who was your mum told was looking after young Thomas Peter when she left his behind?

Thank you so much!

Wow... So he had children in 1960? Glen was born in 1959 and my Mother in 1958.
My Nan told my Mum that her Dad died from TB. I am not sure what she said about leaving Tommy behind. My mum searched for years for family as it was always just her, then she found Tommy in 2010 when she was 50 through the salvation army, he was living in Cambridgeshire. She was so delighted. They met and they looked like twins. They had such a good bond considering they never knew each other. Tommy said he was left and put into care, he knew nothing about his Dad either. it was sad hearing the stories

Terribly sad. How wonderful that they reunited in later years  :)
