Hellen McGregor for date, restore and colour

Hi,

Was wondering if this photo of my 1st cousin 5 times removed could be dated, restored and maybe a separate with a light colouring to bring it to life. she was born in 1837 and died in 1870 so I'm thinking maybe this photo was taken in the early to mid 1860s, she lived in Perth in Scotland. I don't have the original copy so cant scan it again

What you have is a memorial photo taken (probably 1880's).It's a copy of the original which would have been taken 1850's -v.early 1860's.
She appears to be wearing a wedding ring which may help narrow the date & she also appears to be holding a photo (ambrotype).

Oh I didn't think that. She was married in 1861 to Peter Millar.
