Hill Court Hever
« on: Wednesday 14 October 15 13:39 BST (UK) »
Does anyone have any information about Hill Court Hever?  From a probate record John Wood died there 1885 but I am unable to find any information about this property ( other than 1891 census with the Hardcastle family) or why he was even there at that time when he is recorded in 1881 in Devon as a magistrate & his widow Harriet continued to live in Devon.
I would very much appreciate any pointers
many thanks

Edit - Sorry at the moment I can't see a link with John Wood and the family living there in 1881.   I must admit I can't see Harriet and son in 1891??

It does look grand

John Wood's death is listed in the Hastings and St Leonards Observer on 18 April 1885. He died of bronchitis on 12 April 1885 and is listed as of Hill Court Edenbridge Kent and late of the Grange, Withycombe, Devon

that's definitely him Kay - he was at the Grange 1881.  The probate record says "of Hill court Hever formally the Rectory"  They seem to have been left off the 1891 census which is frustrating as it might have helped make the link.
Thank you again for your time
