Hi Sonoma Bill, here they are (probably in 2 posts) the cemetery is in a very dilapidated condition, most of the stones are on their backs. Some are easier to read than others.
I think the top part of the Hislop/Baillie stone is missing.

Now the Paterson ones. I haven't included the Paterson/Dykes picture as this is my own family and I don't think we have a Hislop connection.

Lodger - Thank you so much for the photographs. I really appreciate it. Sonoma Bill

P.S.  Do you know how far the cemetery is from the town of Galashiels?

Thank you, Lodger. I think my great-grandfather, William Paterson, lived in the vicinity of Galashiels before he emigrated to Baltimore, Maryland in the 1870s with a brother and started a florist business. He added a "t" somewhere along the line to become William Patterson, and his daughter - Charlotte (Patterson) Farley - was my maternal grandmother. Thank you again for all of your work.

Hi Lodger
The Hamilton /Goodall is in my tree.  I know how difficult it is to find as some years ago I was able to see the cemetery from the other side of the river.  It looked pretty devastated then in the early nineteen nineties.

Hi Doolittle,

Here is what remains of the stone, it looks as if it's been knocked over at some point and is now standing against another stone. Erosion has taken it's toll and most of the inscription has gone. I have no idea what the paint on top is all about!

McCallum - Oban, McKechnie - Ross of Mull Argyll.
Scrim - Perthshire.
Liddell - Polmont,

Hi Lodger
I suspect the paint is the work of the vandals.  Being across the river from Forgewood, i have no doubt about that.
Thank you very much for the image.  I think I can read enough of the inscription.
