Hi Lodger,
I think the reference to 'Maxwell [James & Isabella] & (Mill or Hill?)' might refer to James Maxwell and Isabella Miller. If so, can you post a picture of the gravestone, please?

Many thanks,
Kenneth.

Hi Kenneth, this is a difficult one to decipher, it could well be Isabella Miller but that's about as far as it goes, apart from the month of death - March. sorry it isn't much use.

Paterson, Torrance, Gilchrist - Hamilton Lanarkshire.
McCallum - Oban, McKechnie - Ross of Mull Argyll.
Scrim - Perthshire.
Liddell - Polmont,
Binnie - Muiravonside Stirlingshire.
Curran, McCafferty, Stevenson, McCue - Co Donegal
Gibbons, Weldon - Co Mayo.
Devlin - Co Tyrone.
Leonard - County Donegal & Glasgow.

Hi Lodger,
Thanks for the image. Reading between the lines it looks like it refers to James Maxwell (d. 18 Apr 1913) and Isabella Miller (d. 17 Mar 1905). They were the parents of a significant CR family.

Next time I'm in Motherwell I'll have a look myself.

Cheers,
Kenneth.

Without even looking at the photograph I can tell you that this is not the stone you are looking for. I always index them as MALE + FEMALE. So Nisbet is a man, Ferguson a woman.
