Withington village
« on: Monday 19 October 15 20:56 BST (UK) »
Can anyone pinpoint the location of Weston Corner, or Withington Corner in Withington village? I'm also looking for the location of Weston Corner Inn. Was it possibly known by another name? It  was run by a William Bayliss in 1871.

There is a farm called Weston Corner Farm at HR1 3SG.

Click on the Map tab to see where that is.

Similarly, also close by, there's one called Withington Corner.

They both have the same postcode.

Weston corner is shown as a hamlet on this old  map. http://maps.nls.uk/view/101569830

It is on the right hand side of the map near the bottom, it is about a mile from Withington village, but close to Withington railway station

Thanks :) I think I've found the right place, now it's just a question of trying to map the enumerator's place names to the map.
