BTW

Does the marriage cert not give her father's name or occupation ?

I've never worked with HK records though so don't know what they contain !

Hi There

Can I ask what information you are looking for on this person ?

I am presuming that your Uncle is still alive.

Is he aware of Ruby's parent's names etc ?

Tara

Yes my uncle is still alive but his memory is not what it was. Added to this is the fact that, according to other relatives, Ruby tended to lie a lot. It just bugs me that I have this brickwall on my tree. I'd like to be sure when and where she was born and died and clear up whether she was previously married. He is not sure on her parents names - could be Thomas and Martha but not sure. The only information he said was on the wedding certificate is what I gave you. Unfortunately he cannot tell me any more than I've told you - in spite of being married to her!!

Aw,

Sure none of our memories are great !

It's not a great timeline to be looking for a Northern Irish lass ~ 1921 being the cutoff for online searches.

Hopefully there were older siblings which may pop up but you'd need her parent's names to be sure that you were working with the correct family.

Tara

Yep I was coming to that conclusion!

Looking better-

That could be promising. Thank you

It's years since the last post on this subject but I hope you get this message. Ruby McCoy is my mother. I have her family tree. If you ask your uncle for my contact details I am happy to fill in the gaps. I have just joined Roots so only seeing all this now.
