Hi there

My maiden name was Gazzard. We lived in Woolwich as did my paternal grandmother Susan. My paternal grandfather Albert died in the late 1940's early 50's. My father Norman was one of four sons, the others being Kenneth, Alan and a half brother Ronald.

Not sure if this ties up with any of your searches.

Gill

Hi Gill
Has promised the info from my tree

Susan Gazzard nee Toft married Eli William Gazzard in 1884, they had at least 6 children one of whom was my Grt grandmother Emily, the family all originated around Woolwich, other children were Eli, Henry, Joseph, Elizabeth and Edward, dont know if they had any more.

Any of these names familar to you?

My Gazzards have been a nighmare to research, I have drawn so many blanks, be great to make a breakthrough

Hi Jayne
No unfortunately these names do not tie up. My Grandmother Susan Gazzard was nee Broadbent. There were only 4 sons in the family. I'm sure there must be a connection because Gazzard is not a very common name and certainly wasn't when I grew up in the 1950's/60's in the Woolwich area. The only Gazzards known to us then were my uncles and cousins.

I have been on other sites and I know someone in Australia is looking for her half brothers and sisiters who are my cousins but I haven't been able to make contact with her!

Good luck with your searching

Gill

I read the Gazzard message board yesterday evening and found someone who wanted info on Robert Gazzard born about 1874 and married to Jane George.  Robert was my grandfather.  I also noticed a message from someone interested in a Robert Gazzard born about 1850 who married an Elizabeth Granshaw.  Have reason to believe this Robert was my great grandfather.  Would be pleased to hear from anyone who thinks they have some connection with my family.

Hi Terry,

Thanks for replying.  Saw a message yesterday that someone was looking for a Robert Gazzard born abt. 1874.  Sure that's my grandfather.  Haven't seen the same message today.  Find it all a bit confusing.  However, thanks once again.
