.............   His birth is always listed as Wales altho nothing ever found (YET) and a male relative did a DNA and 23 % Eastern Europe? Thank You...

Could he have been born in N.S. Wales,  which was the abbreviation used for New South Wales, as in the colony of NSW, which is a state in Australia.   :)

Here is a link to the N.S. Wales BDM .... free to search online index.   http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/Pages/family-history/family-history.aspx

Here is a link to the RChat thread re Official Transcriptions of NSW BDM certs (cheaper but same info as real deal certs) :
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,300394.0.html

N.S. Wales birth cert information includes details about the baby's parents including where they were born, their age, mum's nee name, when and where married, and details of the baby's older siblings.... Dad's occupation, the family's usual address, etc   :)

Cheers,  JM

What was granny's first name?
Did he say 'my Pania' when he was talking with/about her?
It could be just a pet name and not a real term of endearment - from another language.

What nationality was his wife?

Polish: granny is Babcia, then you can have Pani Babcia (Mrs Granny), shortened and reconstructed becomes Pani(babci)a

German: where did he pick up his german?
For example -
Hamburg, informal good morning is Moin Moin
Munich, informal good morning is Gruss Gott

Nearest german words:
Panier - meaning banner
Panieren - to crumb (breadcrumbs)

Searching brings up several of your posts re your grandad and there is mention of a marriage to Hilda Mary Bushen.
This is one of them http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=261339.0

There is mention of a marriage in 1904 which you hadn't then sent for the certificate.
Here are the details:

May 25th 1904 Parish Church, Sully, Glamorgan

Michael Adrian Rimm (Rinn?) 21 yrs Steward residence Barry Island Father:  Adrianoff (looks like that)  deceased Carpenter
Hilda Mary Bushen 18 yrs father William, shipwright.
Witnesses William Bushen and ?? Whitman

2 yrs later, Hilda remarries, still called Bushen.

I see you have been there also  :)

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=673055.0

Do you think that could be your grandfather? As he is a Steward, he may have been a visiting seaman.
What do you think about the father's name?

Sorry. I didn't want to distract from your original post here and reading the thread I saw, I thought you didn't have that marriage so posted it here.
I see now that you have it in other threads and also that you accept him as grandfather.
I suppose that as a steward, he may have acquired more than one language.
Perhaps also it may have been easier to say he was born in Wales.
Do you have his emigration / immigration records?
