Mate J. Wright was discharged from the Neepawa on 3 May 1915 in London.
So we have two different Mr Wrights.

Thanks again for your help, keyboard86.

Mm ok so for my own peace of mind would love to know who this James/Joseph/John etc Wright b c 1882 Kent is!
Although it does seem odd that a John Stanley Wright b c 1882 Northfleet (Suffolk on War record) was a "Mate" in 1901?

Hi
I am tracing the crews census data for several barges.
Mate J Wright is not the only zero result.
There is also a zero result for the second mate Baker.

G Eves the master is 100% full data.

Maybe some of the sailors were cagey about their origins.
They also did not always look after paperwork.

It was a chore, twice a year for the master to fill in the crew list.
Were they always meticulous?

:) Can I just ask what is your fascination with this particular barge and its crew!? Edit just spotted your reply above!
Re Second Mate Baker, he could be the Sidney Baker aged 24  b Ditton Kent occ Mate on Vessel Elizabeth at Shad Thames Wharf,  in 1901 he is with his father Joseph 45 occ Captain of Barge b Aylesford

My great grandfather, grandfather and other relatives were barge masters/mates.
I know my family was associated with the Neepawa, not necessarily in 1915.
J Wright could be an unknown ancestor or just a coincidence that he has the same common surname.
