George Cheesmer (sic) was living at 1, Old Workhouse, Etchingham at the 1861 census as well, along with his wife Frances (nee Bovis) - Thomas Bovis was George's father-in-law - and his many children. And, as others have pointed out, a new workhouse was built in 1835.
