Hi Dave,
I do have some information on the Minge line:
Parents - Ferdinand (1829 - 1922) & Johanna Emilie Zielke (1833 - 1911)
Siblings - Paulina Henrietta (1862 - 1876), Bertha Johanne (1865 - 1867), Herman Gottlib (1867 - 1945), Alvenia Carolina (1876 - 1911), Johanna Emilie (1876 - 1955), George Frederick (1895 - 1975) & Henry William John (no dates). I don't have any further back on the Minge side.
Auguste was born in Schleusnow, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany in abt 1858. The family arrived in Australia on 6/10/1876 from Hamburg via assisted immigration to Queensland, Australia on the ship 'Reichstag'.

Any further information at all on either family would be greatly appreciated.

Birth Auguste: There is no place called Schlenschow
i think the place you are looking for is Schluschow (Sluszewo)

On Berthaīs birth entry it says Bohlschau. Prissnau (Pryśniewo)
On Herrmansīs birth entry it says Bohlschau. Gossentin (Gościcino)
Birth Alvenia Mersin (Mierzyno)
Birth Johanna Emilie Minge Sterbenin (Starbienino)

Had a quick look, there seems to be only 1 Johann born in your time period

Yes, this is where the confusion is, Johann's parents first names are correct, birthplace is correct, although from other searches this Wilhelmine is Bernard's third wife and maiden name was Julius, not Feige as stated on her son's Johann's Australian marriage certificate. There is a difference of about 4 years in DOB also, and I have no middle name for my Johann on any records from Australia. Other trees have linked this Johann Jacob Strack (B 18.3.1836) to my person, but have also used my Marriage Certificate as a source - and I don't think this is the right person. Angela
