Army Record Search circa 1907
« on: Tuesday 03 November 15 18:22 GMT (UK) »
Could someone kindly help me on army details for an entry in a Hull newspaper dated 290407:
Deaths.  Colour-sergeant Glenton Hood, 2nd Yorkshire Regiment in SOUTH AFRICA, son of the late G & E Hood, 47 Wenlock Street, Hull.  Age 41 years.
My ancestor, he was born in 1866, and married 1889 to Annie Bunton at Stepney, London.
My trial membership of Ancestry/FindMyPast etc were "used up" a few years ago, so ANY detail on him, be it Service number, army record, place of death/circumstances would be greatly appreciated.  Mike.

Many thanks indeed for this very full information.  I will now digest it all.  A wonderful example, yet again, of how we can all help each other.  Very very grateful.   Kind Regards, Mike.
