Hi

It was getting really late last  night and I had confused myself so much with this information. ???

Now in the fresh light of day

I have:

Name:    Hettie Burke
Registration Year:    1907
Registration Quarter:    Jul-Aug-Sep
Registration district:    Halifax
Parishes for this Registration District:    View Ecclesiastical Parishes associated with this Registration District
Inferred County:    Yorkshire West Riding
Volume:    9a
Page:    425

Admittedly I don't have the Certs (too expensive from this end) the period fits with 1939 but that's all....

Her Parents I have as John Burke b1879 and Harriet Anne Burke(Wilson) b1879

Hetty's daughter was born 1949 (she is still living)

Have you found the right Hetty and I have been wrong all this time ???

The 1991 Leics death is probably for :
On the 1939:
Hetty    Pallett    1907    Coalville U.D.    Leicestershire

She's single and dob is exact (Plus one).

Maureen

Good finds!!!!

There is a death reg in Cardiff 1996 for a Hetty Pallatt b 1915.   On findmypast I searched for that name and date of birth 1914.   I think this one is yours.

birth record names him as Harris Tobias.

3sillydogs - the one we have found and traced is the Hetty you found in the 1939 register, who was born in Wales in 1914, started life as a Berkovitz, changed the name to Burke and married a Pallett. She then died in Cardiff in 1996. So a different Hetty to the one born 1907 in Halifax. Not sure which one is yours!

Do you have contact with her daughter as she would know where her mother was born?

Harris Tobias are his correct names and he has been quite easy to track, his wife has become my problem ::) ::) ???

I have potentially been following the wrong family......

....but what would be the fun if it just fell into place ;D

I could try to contact her, I do know where she is.
Would having a look at her marriage cert help.
It was the coincidence of the names on 1939 that gave me pause to doubt my research :-[

An interesting family to track, but probably going to be harder if you want to go further back as they weren't born in the UK.
