I wonder if Emanuel filled the form in and got dates etc wrong as English wasn't his first language?

Better not, it is probably copyright!  ;D

Looks like a mistake on the transcription that she was ever a Berkovity, as he married Fanny in 1910.

I have an idea she was perhaps boarding there and think Isaac must be a relative. curious as to who the redacted ones are

The writing is fairly clear, the date is 1 Aug 1914 occupation shorthand typist and single

No Harriets born at that time - perhaps she was trying to conceal her real age for some reason. The one Philip found early would fit an August birth, but 7 years earlier!

Hettie Burke, Sep qtr 1907 Halifax vol 9a p425

Perhaps you might have to get that certificate.

Why would someone make themselves 9 years younger. It also makes her in her forties when she had her first child in 1949 if 1905/7 birth correct.

It has me scratching my head.

Burke may be an anglicised version of Berkovity.

I have checked for Hetty, Hester, Esther Berkovitz (and variants) but can't find a matching birth.  Which begs the question - was she born in Britain?
