« on: Saturday 21 November 15 16:33 GMT (UK) »
Good afternoon, I am trying to locate where  the burial registers, wills and M.Is of the above parish for  around 1820+ would be held. ??? Would anyone be able to help?
Many Thanks

Burial records for Stainton are viewable via FindMyPast.  Wills would be housed at the Borthwick Institute in York, although again FindMyPast have the indices.  MI's - also transcribed on FindMyPast.

There may well be other sources.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

I've looked at Find my Past and the parish burials for the above aren't included.

OK,if you say so!   I just entered the forename "John" and specified "Stainton", then "Yorkshire Burials" and I have results for Stainton (West Riding) and Stainton-in-Cleveland (North Riding).  OK if I specify 1820 +/- 2 years then only results for Stainton (West Riding) appear.

Added:  Stainton-in-Cleveland burial records are only available, via FindMyPast, to 1778.  Nothing available for S-in-C on Yorkshire BT's.

Many thanks for the link Bee.

I think I've found the burial records of both my grandparents x 3 in the nearby parish of Newton under Roseberry St. Oswald.

I've also emailed the Borthwick Institute in York to see about getting a copy of his will, hopefully it won't be too expensive and I'll be able to read it, Unlike the one's from the PCC! They can be a bit of a struggle at times :) Lol
