Fiset Family Help Please.
« on: Monday 23 November 15 13:45 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

Please can anyone help:

Roland F J Fiset (no UK birth records) - married in Croydon Q ending Dec 1944, I can find no other records of the Fiset family except that his wife and their children travelled to and from Canada on two occasions in the 1950s

I am wondering if Roland F J Fiset might have been a Canadian serviceman who returned to Canada after the war and then his family travelled out there and eventually they all settled there?

Any help much appreciated.

Hi,

Welcome to RootsChat

Some of the people you have named are hopefully still living.  RootsChat has a policy of not naming living people, so you need to remove there names or a moderator will do it for you.

Not sure how popular the last male Christian name listed would be but there was someone of that name in La Prairie, Québec in 1974. Perhaps that could be worth checking out.

Quite a number with the same initial listed http://www.canada411.ca/ but no way of knowing which one he could be  ???

Sandra,
Thanks I've modified the original post - long time since I've used RootsChat and a lapse of memory prevailed!  Thanks for your latest information in your second post.  You've been very helpful.

Terry

If you were to obtain the marriage cert, this would hopefully have his age and father's name which would be helpful in trying to trace Roland in Canada, especially if he was born in Quebec, where baptism records are available up to about 1940 (other provinces have 100 year closure). Since Roland and Stella appear to have settled in Quebec, it is also possible that Roland was born there.

There is a G Fiset in the white pages in the town of the voters lists posted above, Deux-Montagnes. Might be a rellie? Full contact info is given.
