Thanks Annie ....  again ... much appreciated :)

I am trying to work out whether there were divisions in the Naval Marines in the first half of the 1800's and which part my man was in.  He was awarded the Naval General Service Medal (which I have) in 1843 for services during the engagements in Syria.  So looking to get a very good understanding of the conflict, the marines, how and where they enlisted and what they did during those years :)

Thanks again Annie :)

I think I have been to those but had problems locating naval marines back then ... most information was after the Crimean or on the Trafalgar engagements.

Buuuttttt will poke around again :)
