John Dance Sonning/Hurst

Hi, need some help locating John Dance's date of birth, parents and siblings.

I know he was born in Sonning in c1809 and married Hannah Johnson in Hurst in 1831. Would appreciate it if someone could do a search of the Sonning parish records for me.

Sorry Stephen, I can't find a John Dance baptised in Sonning.

These are the Dances from the Sonning PRs:

baptised 7 May 1809  Richard s/o Richard & Sarah Dance
baptised 17 Nov 1811 William s/o Richard & Ann Dance
baptised 3 Oct 1813 Mary d/o Richard, labourer, & Ann Dance of Woodley & Sandford
baptised 23 Aug 1818 Joseph s/o      _ ditto -
baptised 18 Jun 1820  Ann d/o           _ ditto -
baptised 18 Feb 1825 James s/o          _ ditto -
baptised 27 Jul 1828 George s/o          _ ditto -

I couldn't find burials in Sonning for either mothers Mary or Sarah Dance so I think these Richard Dances may be separate individuals.

I note that Family Search has a baptism for a John Dance s/o Richard & Mary at St Mary, Reading 29 May 1814. Is this too late to be your John?

Thank you for looking in to this for me.

Based on his age in subsequent censuses, 1809 is his approximate dob, but this is an educated guess.

His parents and siblings will have to remain elusive for the time being.
