There is a Mary Brooks aged 15 years living with my Gr Gr Gr Grandparents Moses and Charlotte Willatts in the 1851 census born Wokingham, and she is shown as adopted. Although Brooks is a family name, I can't as yet find where she fits in. She would have been born about 1836. Any help gratefully received.
regards.

There's a Mary Brooks age 5 in Wokingham 1841 listed with

Mary Brooks 33
John Brooks 13
Mary Brooks 5
Joseph Brooks 3

If that family have a missing Mary in 1851 she could be your girl, then again she might just be out on her own elsewhere :-\

Joseph 12 in 1851 appears to be in a district school, looks like Wargrave.

There's a Mary Brooks death in Wokingham Dec 1847 which could be the mother so the children were separated out.
