1799 Haltwhistle burial - completed
« on: Tuesday 15 December 15 16:38 GMT (UK) »
Does anyone have access to the Haltwhistle (Featherstone) burial records?

Joseph Lee wrote his will in April 1799, leaving amounts to each child, including his daughter Jane who received £30 - the same as each of the other unmarried daughters. His will was proved on 27 Nov 1799.

Jane married in Kirkhaugh on 10 Nov 1799 and, even though I may be reading too much into the dates, I would be interested to know whether this was before or after her father died.

Looking at freereg there are a lot of Lee burials at Haltwhistle but the only Joseph was buried in 1811.

Thank you for looking.

I think I may now have found it on the BTs on Familysearch. There is certainly a Joseph Lee buried in Kirkhaugh, where a number of his children were baptised, on 13th July 1799 aged 72.

Thanks. I've done that and found the burial (see previous post).

I tried to modify my post last night to say that the Joseph found on freereg was only 18.  Unfortunately my computer and rootschat refused to communicate with each other and wouldn't let me.  I couldn't even log out  ::)
