Brothers Keeper BKWIN
« on: Thursday 17 December 15 13:12 GMT (UK) »
Does anyone use this program, I have used it for years and love it BUT I have been naughty and not started separate families when entering information. I have done trees for other people and my data base includes all families I have done which in some cases are nothing to do with me and I want to know how to separate them into their own tree and then export to a pen-drive and eventually delete them to be left with only my data. My BK is a registered version. All help appreciated. Glenda

I've got a copy of BK 6.3.
What it says there is:

From the home page (i.e. no person selected) select File, Split Database.
Enter the destination Directory.

Select the people to copy to the new database!

Choices:
Ancestors of a person
Ancestors of a person plus family of each ancestor
Descendants of a person
Descendants of a person plus parents of spouses
Range of numbers
Family of a person
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

I have BK v7.1
The instructions are the same. If you need more details try "split database" under "help".

Hi thanks, the "owner" has been in touch and is going to do it for me. Just at an age a bit scared of losing everything.. Thanks for your help.
