I'm intrigued as I live very near to Stenson & Twyford
I just did a brief google search and one result was for findmypast.com which shows 2 results for a John Bakewell burial:
John Bakewell buried 1746 Derby All Saints
John Bakewell buried 1770 Ticknall
Given that your John was a yeoman I'd have guessed that the Ticknall one more likely as Derby All Saints is further away, in the centre of the city, and is now Derby Cathedral.
However, I repeated the search on findmypast.com for the name Elizabeth Bakewell and again got just 2 results:
Elizabeth Bakewell burial 1753 Derby All Saints
Elizabeth Bakewell burial 1763 Brailsford.
So, is it likely that there was another couple called John & Elizabeth Bakewell living in Derby itself, who were both buried in their local church if All Saints?
Or, could they be your ancestors? Might they have retired into the town and left the younger generation in their Twyford/Stenson property?
Alternatively, your ancestor might have moved south to nearby Ticknall which is only 7 or 9 miles away on modern roads (depending whether you cross the river Trent at Willington or Swarkestone) – but in John Bakewell’s day there was a thriving ferry crossing at Twyford which meant Ticknall was a mere 4 miles down the lane !
Ticknall, at the entrance of the Harpur family’s Calke estate, would have been a thriving centre of industry as the gentry were in the midst of developing their newly acquired lands.
Brailsford is a different matter; it’s north-west of Derby and a 16 mile journey from Twyford ! I suppose it’s not impossible that Elizabeth had been taken ill while visiting friends/relatives . . . . . ?
Just a few thoughts, not sure if you already had this information,
