Hi Karenlee, that 1910 census also states John/Louise had been married 18 years?

Hi Again karenlee, Could your Alice Petherick be the same person ?

"Great Britain Marriages, 1797-1988," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/XT8P-138 : accessed 3 January 2016), John Edward Britten and Alice F. S. S. Pethersek, 15 May 1882; citing London, London, England, reference cn 203; FHL microfilm

The BRITTEN PETHERICK marriage is the right one... it was registered in both Paris - where it occurred  - and in London as both parties were residents of London Parishes at the time of their marriage in Paris.  Probably eloped??

After his divorce from Alice,  John Edward BRITTEN married Louisa Rose COWARD in Paris. They show up on the UK GRO Consular Indices lodged between 1891 - 1895.

John Edward BRITTEN and Louisa most likely went to the USA post the divorce then returned to Paris where he died in 1925.

On the UK GRO Consular Birth Indices lodged 1881 - 1885 there is a birth for a John Edward BRITTEN born Paris.  Now chances are this is the son of John Edward BRITTEN and the two names were changed around on various documents. Maybe to avoid confusion with his father??  The only way to know for sure is to get the Certificate.

Good evening everybody
I'm French, and looking for my english ancestor; Today i received a birth certificate. I don't know if this baby boy belong to my genealogy tree at this time, but I share my information:
BABY: ROSSIER Louis Albert
Né le 16 septembre 1906 à Paris 16e arrondissement
Mère Elisa ROSSIER
Enfant reconnu par John BRITTEN son père, le 17 février 1911

I asked for this birth certificate because i'm looking for my grand father's ancestors, Jacques Britten, born in Paris on 30 december 1906. His mother Florence Marion WEEDEN (1867 London- 1908 Dourdan(France)); His father Albert James Britten (1853 LOndon-??). Both Married in Paris in 1900; They had two other children: Elisabeth Britton(same parents, same professions, but not the same spelling). This baby girl's born in 1898 and died one month later. A baby boy's born in London in 1899 but also died one month later. At this time, i didn't found other brothers or sisters of my Grand father (He didn't know his parents). I'd like to know when and where my great grand father's died. Is there somebody interested by searchs in Paris archives? I'm going to Paris this 18 march for a few days.
Sorry for my pretty poor English.... My grand father didn't speack english
Best wishes
Frédérique
