No sign of George Ives after 1861 census, and can't find a death for him.

I cannot find a baptism for George Ives in Great Missenden. ???

The nearest one is 1786 @ Little Marlow, to George & Sarah.  ???

I've taken my own advice, and asked BuucksFHS for look ups, but in the meantime, has anyone else any ideas. :)

Is the George Ives b. 1786 Great Missenden and living in Chipping Wycombe in 1861 not yours?

Edit: just re-read your post. Sorry.
But there is a George Ives death registered in Wycombe district in 1865.

That baptism in Little Marlow looks promising. Have you tracked any other children's baptisms for this couple?

Yes, I'm in the process of doing that.  Quite easy to find so far. ;) :)

Are all of their children baptised in Little Marlow, or are any baptised elsewhere? If they were moving around, presumably for work, then it is possibly the right one.

No other baptisms in Little Marlow.   But, there is a 1793 baptism in Eton, for a George Bowen, natural son of Ann Ives. (poor).
And two others for John Page(1781) & William Aldridge(1785), both baseborn to Ann Ives. (Poor).

I've had other children born to Ives, in Hoggeston, father from Up Missenden.  So, it may not be a surprise there are more about. ;)

Still waiting on BucksFHS for the searches.

Hannah/Anne Beesely was baptized 2 April 1785 @ St Nicholas, Ickford, Bucks.  Daughter of John & Elizabeth BAZELY.

No baptism for George Ives for the year of around 1785, Great Missenden, or anywhere else, except the one's mentioned.

I wonder if he was a non conformist. ???

Oh well, onwards and backwards. ;)

If you are using the Bucks FHS search facilities, do they have the non-conformist records? I struggled for a long time with some of my Bucks ancestors, until a distant cousin found them as Quakers. Filled in about 4 generations very quickly.
