Davidsons H & H Bakers Great Homer Street Liverpool
« on: Wednesday 06 January 16 20:32 GMT (UK) »
Hello
I'm trying to find out any information on the Davidsons who had bakeries on Great Homer Street at Nos 137 (corner of Penrhyn St) & 225 throughout the 1900's up to about 1960. The last people who had it were Herbert & Harold. I think some of the family also lived in Seacombe, Egremont & Liscard. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

To save duplication what do you have so far? Is there anything you are specifically looking for?

Hi
Thanks very much for your replies, much appreciated. I already have quite a bit of information from the census's, I'm looking more for information sources for death notices (where I maybe able to see these online), trade & street directories (Kelly's and Gore's online) and any photos of Great Homer Street. I have found photos of the even numbers but I'm specifically looking for numbers 137 & 225.
Thanks

That's very helpful, especially with the directories, thanks. Do you know of a site that holds all the Liverpool Echo & Daily Post death notices, or would that be the Liverpool central library?

You would have to have a good idea when they died and then visit Liverpool Record Office to look through the newspapers on microfiche for death notices. Most online newspaper resources don't cover the 20th century. I had a quick look through the free access probate records and there's at least one for the family on there if you look for John Davidson in 1935 there's a probate record giving date of death, address as 225 Great Homer Street and more.
