I was at school in Cheshire with a girl whose surname was Rampling, she also had a sister about a year or so older, both born in Lancashire.  I won't give their names as they're probably still alive.  Their mother was a medical doctor of some sort in Manchester.  I can't remember what her dad did but judging by where they lived he must have had a job with a good salary.  Just checked, her dad was a medical doctor too.

If anyone wants their names please PM me.

I think your school friend was my sister Alison Grindrod (nee Rampling). She celebrated her Diamond Wedding two weeks ago (2 April).
Her elder sister Jennifer died last year.
Our father was indeed a doctor as was our mother (both deceased of course).
Good luck
John Rampling

Yes, it was Alison.  I wasn't in her friendship group at the Grammar School , although I knew her.  I don't remember Jennifer and Alison having a brother.  Sorry!  I'm surprised she is only just celebrating her Diamond Wedding Anniversary, as I remember seeing her in Hale, about 1960 when she told me she had just got engaged.  Presumably she had a long engagement.

I'm sorry to hear about Jennifer.
