Katie Derkach – birth place not known
Married Kenneth A. Wise about 1938 in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan
Katie died 1953 in Luseland, Saskatchewan, buried in Luseland Cemetery

Their origins maybe Germany

There is a history book on the Ourroots site titled Hub & Spoke: A History of Luseland.

The write up in the book is done by Katie(Wise) Derkach. She indicates she is a sister to Lydia.

Hallo lilybell, I have seen a copy of the book which does not give Katies age or where the family came from.

The 2nd volume of this book, in an article by Katie Wise Derkach, states her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Leikam.  After Ken Wise's death she married Walter Derkach.

That makes the picture clearer now, I had not thought of Katie marrying twice.
