Rankin & Hitchcocks Late 1800's
« on: Sunday 17 July 05 00:33 BST (UK) »
I am looking to see if I might have any family left over in Ireland that can help me out and let me know some history regarding my family.

John Hitchcock wife Annie Louisa 1793 gggg grandparents
George Rock Hitchcock & Francis Margaret Mary Ryan where my ggg grandparents

Cecil Allan Edwin Hitchcock & Elanor Jane Wilson Rankin where my gg grandparents

I understand they where very wealthy over there in Dublin Ireland in there time.

I have post cards from Dublin Ireland from the beginning of the 1900's and found a connection through the names of my relations to these people.

I see the name Ponsonby, Hamilton, Macgregor & Willson. I believe they used there middle names as past last names in there family. If you can help me anyone I would be so grateful.

They had so many children it would be to hard to list them all. The locations in Ireland where they mostly lived before the died are:

Dublin Newton, Dublin,  Nd Glencullen & Rathgar

Thank you,

Terrie

Hi Terrie

Sorry we haven't been able to help you so far on this one.

Have you had a look at all the usual resources I tend to suggest?  ;)

The General Register Office of Ireland

The Public Record Office of Northern Ireland

Irish Roots

The National Library of Ireland

Irish Genealogy

Genealogical Society of Ireland

Irish Ancestors

National Archives of Ireland

Perhaps you would like to have a look at these resources to see if there is anything that might help you.

Please come back with any further queries or to let us know how you get on.

Best wishes
