Whittlesey Workhouse: Inmate John L Ingle
« on: Saturday 30 January 16 19:29 GMT (UK) »
I wonder if anyone knows where any remaining inmates of Whittlesey Workhouse may have been transferred to, upon it's closure in the 1930's, please?
I have been unable to find the death of an Inmate John Levitt Ingle who is shown on the 1911 Census as being an inmate.
Thanks in advance.

This site http://www.workhouses.org.uk/Whittlesey/
says that  Cambridge Archives and Local Studies, Box SH 1009, Shire Hall, Castle Hill, Cambridge CB3 0AP. have the  Admissions and discharges for 1913-33 and Guardians' minutes 1911-33.

Maybe they will be able to tell you where any remaining inmates were transferred to or whether your man was discharged prior to its closure.
