Stephen Mead, Somerset

I'm trying to trace the birth of Stephen MEAD.  He married Jane LOVE in 1754 in Rowde, Wiltshire, as a sojourner, i.e. temporary resident.  Jane was born in Rowde.    Stephen died in 1794 in Charlton-Mackrell, Somerset. 

Stephen's son, also Stephen MEAD, married Lucy FLOWER from Dunkerton, Somerset, in Devizes in 1774.  Twenty years later Stephen senior has returned to Somerset and died there. 

Any info relating to possible place of birth/baptism would be appreciated as I have so far drawn a blank.  Thank you.

No, his age is not recorded.  And, yes, I have tried both those resources.

There is a baptism for a Stephen Mead in Market Lavington, Wiltshire on 9 Jan 1731, father is Hugh.

Thank you, Girl Guide.  I've made a note of the details but cannot as yet make a connection.  Its a pity his occupation was not noted on his marriage entry.
