During the French Revolution, Kusel was burnt down for the third time in 1794. - So there are no remains of earlier times. - The churches are built during the Bavarian time of Kusel (1816-1945).
Your ancestors might be Reformed (Zwingli, Calvin) or Lutherans.
I think there are no parish registers in Kusel, the French have collected all after the revolution and Civil Registration had been introduced around 1800. In the civil registers you might be able to see the handwriting of your ancestors.
The parish registers might be in the central archives of the church in Speyer. - I will check that.
There is a special archive for emigrated people of Palatinate in Kaiserslautern (K-Town).
