You have the advantage of having the 1985 death certificate and it is the small details that often lead to a successful outcome.

What was the occupation of the deceased's father?

What was the length of time the deceased lived in NSW and Qld?

I only have 1975 obituary for Mabel - mentions her husband Benjamin Hansford Lewis & grandchildren , there was no mention of any children.

i have found newspaper articles for  2 sons: JH Houston died 1945 & Raymond d 1966.

I cant see how Mabel could have 2 sons by the same name therefore JH Houston 1985 death informant ( his wife Marion) must have been mistaken.

JH Houston's father was a miner & there is no mention of how many years JH  lived in each state only where born - Woonoona NSW.

Do you have the marriage registration for JH and Marion, and if so, what information does JH give about himself and his parents?

According to the electoral roll William Bell HOUSTON was a carpenter.

And information on a death certificate only as accurate as the knowledge of an informant.

There is a NSW female birth in 1916  in the surname HOUSTON with father John W and mother Mabel.

I am not able to find the death of the person, so will PM the name and details to those interested who may discover a death or marriage.

Regrettably the source of this finding has suddenly ceased to function ;D, but another chatter may be able to help.

During the time it was functioning, I did not see a birth for John Henry HOUSTON with parents as listed on the cemetery memorial .

However, as I say,  devices were not working well and my search may be unreliable.
