From the Oxford FHS CD of Parish Register Transcripts (HED02) for the Headington area the first registered baptism of a child of this marriage (Anne Lock) that I have found is in Horspath  on 14th January 1798. That would imply a marriage some time in the mid 1790s.

A search of the marriage records for Horspath and its surrounding villages (Cuddesdon, Elsfield, Forest Hill, Garsington, Holton, Horton cum Studley, Marston, Wheatley and Wood Eaton) does not reveal a relevant marriage. So where else might this wedding have taken place?

Any suggestions as to where to look next would be most welcome.

OxFHS Marriage index, shows a marriage in Sandford St.Martin.

John Lock(of Radford) to Sarah Dale. 21 Sept 1778.

No John Locke marriage that fits, and no others to a Sarah.
