Hi Harry-
I am replying to your post of February 2016! I have just joined RootsChat, although I have been doing my genealogy for about 20 years.
My maternal Grandmother was the daughter of Agnes Ritchie Vannett. Elizabeth Vannet was a sister of James Vannett, my third great grandfather, born in Arbroath in 1783 (at sometime in this chain, a second "T" was added to the name).

Elizabeth Vannet 1775-
3rd great-grandaunt
Alexander Vannet 1759-1781
Father of Elizabeth Vannet
James Vannett 1783-1846
Son of Alexander Vannet
James Monroe Vannett 1816-1894
Son of James Vannett
Agnes Ritchie Vannett 1850-1928
Daughter of James Monroe Vannett
Jessie Radford Graham H 1885-1967
Daughter of Agnes Ritchie Vannett

Agnes Ritchie Vannett (born in Edinburgh) arrived in New York City in 1853 with her parents, and married John Graham in 1868, they met in church.

I am delighted to make this connection, hoping it will be beneficial to both of us!

Hello! I haven't thought about Vannets for a long time. I hope you enjoy browsing posts on Rootschat.
