Hi Sandra.

I never knew about those records on familysearch. Haven't used it in ages great thanks. That's him the 1923 form is under the name Hector Grange on the site and it matches date of entry to the ship manifest.
The census find does look good just looked at the image and the "mc" bit is after the name. He is in a service job waiter footman ties in well. Hubby has been banging his head on this one and had moved to the next so I thought I could tidy up a bit for him . This is a great find thank you.

Hi,

Interesting......
There is a Canadian Passenger Form 30A on the ship the "Megantic" arriving 1921 for Hector
Grainge, age 22, b. Little Horwood, in employ of Governor General, destined to Government
House, Ottawa. Passage paid by Lord Byng. Nearest relative, Mrs. Louisa Grainge, mother,
Little Horwood.

RC's shrink link isn't working for me.

Cheers,
DB

 Hi DB

That's a good find. Yes mother Louisa. On the various funeral clips in the local news there is no mention of Hector. No flowers from him or nothing of a son living overseas.
At least we have more of an idea now.
 Thank you
