Thanks, km. Well, I sent off for a battery, only a few days delivery, and it's working fine. I settled on a cheap one because I thought if I'd messed it up then I wouldn't have lost much. I don't expect it to last long because of the price but that's okay. I'll know what to do next time, thanks to all of you.  :)
