Hi Catherine,

I'm looking for Joseph Haddock born between 1872/73/74 in Kidderminster,Worcestershire,
England. On the 1901 census he is not with the rest of the family. Through old family members
i've been told he went to Ireland, and he was a teacher, another is a Professor at Dublin
University?? If you could have a look to see if you could find this person i would be very grateful.

                                              Many Thanks,

                                                      Pat.

Hi Kate

Thanks for the offer

I am looking for Eliza Gordon and Thomas Kearney both born Dublin.  I am unsure of their dates of birth as later information on ages is conflicting.  Their first child Elizabeth was born 1858/9 and the second Christopher 1860/61.

Any information greatly appreciated

Hi Catherine,

My g grandfather was Joseph Synnott & he married Mary Lightholder.  In the early 1900s they lived on Lower Sheriff Street in the North Wall area of Dublin and they attended  Mass at Saint Laurence O'Toole's Catholic Church at 49  Seville Place.  Their children were Stephen, John, William (my grandfather), Joseph (Josie), Edward (Ned), Mary (she married Edward McEntee), and Thomas.  The children attended school at O'Toole's and the boys played football for  O'Toole's during the 1920s.  John, William, & Thomas came to the United States.

There was a store across the street from O'Toole's that was owned by John Synnott.  He was my grandfather's cousin & the boys also played football.

I have tried several options without success and I cannot begin my search without more info on my g grandfaather.
All I know about him is written above.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanking you in advance.

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi,

If you know their probable address in 1901 and 1911, look them up on the census. This is available in the National Archives in Dublin. From this you will get ages and county of birth and on the 1911, years married and number of years married.

Hi,

Do you have his death certificate? This should show his age and who was present at death amongst other things. Then you can work out his year of birth and search for that in the birth indexes  available at the Dublin GRO and for some years on folm at your local family history centre. They also have marriage indexes.

There's also the 1911 census to check for that addess if you think they were there that long.
