Sarah Ann Haynes, d. 1890 Green's Norton
« on: Thursday 25 February 16 17:47 GMT (UK) »
The entry in the burial register (available on Ancestry) shows

Name: Sarah Ann Haynes
Abode: Green's Norton
When buried: 30 May 1890
Age: 36

Underneath that entry are the words "Ceremony solemnized under the Burial Amendment Act" and in the margin are the words "Coroner's Order".

Now I understand that the Burial Amendment Act bit might just mean that she was a non-conformist and may not signify anything sinister.  However, I'm suspicious about the Coroner's Order and wonder if there is more to this story.

I've looked, without any success, for a newspaper cutting.

Can anyone else help, please?

Thanks
STG

Might the death certificate provide some clues?  Cause of death might be enlightening, exact date and place etc.

She's only a twig on the tree, so splashing out just to satisfy my curiosity isn't looking likely - unless we win the lottery this weekend, of course, but then that's not particularly likely either, is it? ;)
