Thomas CRAINE 1842-1890 - COMPLETED
« on: Sunday 28 February 16 05:07 GMT (UK) »
Thomas CRAINE was born at Braddan on the Isle of Man in 1842. In 1874 he married Margaret MOORE at Braddan.

By 1876 they were in New Zealand, at Stanway, near Feilding, where Margaret died on 5 August. Thomas died in 1890 and was buried in the Feilding Cemetery with Margaret.

Thomas' younger brother Edward 1844-1913, married Mary CLARKE in Braddan in Feb 1875 and in June 1875 they left on the Chile for Nelson in NZ. In May 1876 they arrived at Wanganui on the Murray from Nelson, heading to Stanway.

Can anyone find Thomas and Margaret on a passenger list anywhere. Have not been able to find them myself so hoping a fresh pair of eyes might help.

Ian C

EDIT
Should have done a search before instead of after. Thomas and Margaret also came out on the Chile so this can be completed. They were on the list as CRAIN, without the E.

Janette

You may be right there, it is definitely one of them.

Mr and Mrs CHRISTIAN were also on the Chile and from the Isle of Man as well. They also ended up in the Stanway area where the CRAINEs went.
