Joseph Graham and his wife Gertrude were at that address up to the 1950s he may have been her employer.

That's what I figured too Dathai - but I still cant be sure its the right Elizabeth. I cant see why her brother James didn't bury her, he had a shop on the North Strand Road (which was flattened by "those" bombs) and was financially reasonably comfortable - maybe they fell out, who knows.

For now, until something new comes to light (1926 census, fingers crossed!!) I have this date of death attached to my Elizabeth with a TBC warning beside it :)

Hi all - just a quick pop back into this thread to let you know that, 8 years later, I finally found a marriage record for my Elizabeth McEvoy.

I was rooting around on Irish Newspapers Archives to see if I could find anything to do with her brother (my ggf) around the time of his death. He was an alderman and was very involved with Dublin GAA so I was hopeful that I might find something of interest... and boy did I. Included in the attendees of his funeral was on Mrs E Dowling (sister)....at which point I nearly fell off my chair.

It turned out that she got married in 1923, at the ripe of age of 58 and lived until 1947.

That’s certainly something to celebrate. Great news.

Are you sure of the marriage in 1923?

There's an Elizabeth McEvoy marrying a Patrick Dowling on 5 August 1922 at St Joseph's RC Church, Dun Laoghaire (according to IrishGenealogy).

If I'm wrong, can you post a link to the 1923 marriage?

Thanks
