Records for Coolshannagh Cemetery
« on: Thursday 03 March 16 20:18 GMT (UK) »
I have a newspaper death notice for Mary Graham (Mrs. Thomas Graham) of Glasslough Street, who died 18 December 1906. According to the notice it says she was moved to the Monaghan Protestant Church, where the funeral service was conducted by Rev. Canon Bradley and the burial took place in the family burying ground in Coolshannagh cemetery. I have checked all the pictures of the various headstones and still can't find her. I was wondering that in case a headstone was never erected, would the cemetery had records on the burial site. I am going to Ireland in June and trying very hard to find where any of my ancestors are laid to rest, but no luck. This is the closest I have got. I tried to find a address or contact person for this cemetery on the internet but no luck. Can anyone advise or help me with my request. Thank you in advance,
Susan

Which is why I suggested they may not be buried in their Parish.

This Mary Graham is the daughter-in-law of my Great Grandparents x2. Her name and address was on the death record for both when they passed away in Rafeenan. I found a 1901 and 1911 census for Mary, her husband Thomas and son Thomas Jr., so was trying to find out where she was laid to rest in case Thomas and Elizabeth Graham were buried in the same cemetery. Have sent a letter to the Revd Canon Berry and see what happens. If nothing, will just have to be content that some things are not meant to be.  Take care and all the best.
