« on: Sunday 20 March 16 07:52 GMT (UK) »
Pierre Francois  was a Professor of French at London University. He was married to Rose Rennell. He had a daughter Isabella and son, my husbands gggrandfather Augustus Francis Merlet born 1836 who came to New Zealand via Australia. We know Pierre was born in France but don't know where nor anything about his wife Rose. Can anyone help please

Regarding Rose Rennell, it might be worth researching the marriage witnesses:

Tho. Rennell
Catherine Rennell
Susan Rennell

Again thanks but how easy is it to get Pierre Francois and Rose's death certificates? Will they have their parents names listed

It is easy to get an English death certificate (look up GRO Online and use reference details available from FreeBMD).

However, an adult's death certificate will not give any details of the deceased's parents.  See here for what info you can expect:

Pierre and Rose had more children than just Isabella and Augustus. Baptisms are all on Ancestry.
