Marriage Chistlet,Kent......
« on: Thursday 24 March 16 19:46 GMT (UK) »
21 July 1839.  I do have the marriage certificate but would like a look up of the parish register if possible as I have a query.

Groom - Ambrose Kite
Bride -   Mary Curtis

Thanks.

Sorry mods looks like I've posted in the wrong place.  Could you please move to the correct board.

Hi,

The query is that the brides fathers name isn't included on the marriage certificate and would like a look up of the original parish register as there may have been a mistake made when transferring the details to the marriage certificate.    :)

No, no father named for the bride. She may have been illegitimate but not necessarily so, I have a marriage where no father is shown for bride or groom in the PR's, yet both were alive and well

Hi,

Thank you. I think it was a mistake but will probably never be 100 percent sure.   :)

The way it is written it is just possible that deceased refers to the bride's father not the groom's. If so, it is possible the minister may not have bothered to enter the name, or the bride simply did not give it.
