does   anyone  know  anything  about this  western house,i am researching  the name of Harris for my brother in law do not have a lot to go on at moment,but just found out that his grandmother was  at western  house in 1927,would like to know what sort of person they  looked  after,would be grate full if any one could  help

 Your best bet is contact Birmingham library

The will have electoral registers 1927 with building names and local knowledge where/who to contact for further advice.

in 1912 The Birmingham Workhouse became Western Road   House, no longer seen as a workhouse it became a Poor Law Institution caring for elderly and infirm paupers.This became Summerfield Hospital  in 1948.
