Martha Nixon, Bladon -completed
« on: Saturday 02 April 16 21:16 BST (UK) »
Hi all ;D

Martha Nixon married John Johnson in 1759 in Bladon. Their last child was baptised there in 1777, I think.
Were they baptised there too?
There seems to be well established Nixon and Johnson families in the village at the time.

Thanks for any help with possible parents.
Greetings from Germany

Hi
There is a baptism in St Martins PR's for a Martha Nixon on 27 June 1736 d o James and Mary

The nearest John Johnson is in 1699 - a bit too old do you think?

Oxfordshire Family History Society www.ofhs.org.uk has transcribed the parish registers of Oxfordshire, including Bladon.  Bladon is on CD WOD03.

An alternative way of researching Oxfordshire ancestry is by using the OFHS Search Services - see on the left at www.ofhs.org.uk .  The Search Services let you request searches in the county-wide databases such as baptisms.  I recommend you request searches for both the baptisms of interest - you'll then cover not only Bladon but a wider sweep.

Thanks both.
I'll think about getting the CD. Need to get a new laptop first ;-)
